一、学院简介

长江大学地球科学学院起源于1950年成立的北京石油工业专科学校（新中国第一所石油学校），后随学校多次搬迁，先后在大庆、荆州等地办学，2012年搬迁至武汉校区。

学院拥有“地质资源与地质工程”博士后流动站，“地质资源与地质工程”、“地质学”一级博士学位授权学科，“地质资源与地质工程”、“地质学”和“遥感科学与技术”3个一级硕士学位授权学科，资源勘查工程、地质学、地球信息科学与技术3个本科专业。其中，资源勘查工程专业为国家一流本科专业，国家特色专业，通过国际工程教育认证专业，是教育部专业综合试点改革、“卓越计划”和湖北省“英才计划”实施专业；地质学为国家一流本科专业；地理信息科学为湖北省一流本科专业和湖北省战略性新兴(支柱)产业人才培养计划实施专业。

学院拥有6门国家级和省级一流本科课程，3门国家级和省级精品资源共享课、精品课程，3个国家级和省级教学团队，3个湖北省优秀基层教学组织。同时拥有教育部油气资源与勘探技术重点实验室、省部共建非常规油气协同创新中心、中国石油油气储层重点实验室、非常规油气地质与工程湖北省工程研究中心、南方复杂页岩油气地质与开发湖北省重点实验室等多个省部级实验室。学科在地质资源与地质工程、地质学、测绘科学与技术方面形成了鲜明特色。

学院现有教职工175人，其中专任教师142人、具有博士学位135人、教授35人、副教授59人、博士生导师23人，硕士生导师114人。拥有国家高层次人才3人，长江大学学科杰出人才3人，湖北省特聘专家2人，自然资源部“地质找矿后备青年科技人才”1人，中国科协青年托举人才1人，湖北省省级人才称号11人。全国模范教师1人，全国优秀教师1人，享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家3人，省政府津贴专家5人，湖北省突出贡献中青年专家1人，湖北省新世纪高层次人才工程人选2人，湖北省自然科学优秀创新群体2个，湖北省杰青2人，湖北省教学名师2人。

I. Brief Introduction to the School

The School of Geosciences, Yangtze University traces its origin to Beijing Petroleum Junior College founded in 1950, the firstever petroleum college in New China. After several institutional relocations, the school operated in Daqing and Jingzhou successively, and moved to the Wuhan Campus in 2012.

The school hosts the postdoctoral research station ofGeological Resources and Geological Engineering, firstlevel doctoral degree programs inGeological Resources and Geological Engineering andGeology, as well as firstlevel master’s degree programs in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Geology, and Geomatics Science and Technology. It offersthree undergraduate majors: Resource Exploration Engineering, Geology, and GeoInformation Science and Technology.

Resource Exploration Engineering is a nationallevel firstclass undergraduate major and national featured major, accredited under the International Engineering Education Accreditation. It is also a pilot major for the Ministry of Education Comprehensive Program Reform, the “Excellence Initiative”, and the Hubei Provincial “Elite Program”. Geology is a nationallevel firstclass undergraduate major. Geographic Information Science is a Hubei provinciallevel firstclass undergraduate major and a pilot major under the Hubei Strategic Emerging (Pillar) Industry Talent Cultivation Program.

The school boasts 6 national and provincial firstclass undergraduate courses, 3 national and provincial quality resourcesharing courses & quality courses, 3 national and provincial teaching teams, and 3 outstanding grassroots teaching organizations of Hubei Province. It is home to multiple provincialministeriallevel laboratories, including the Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resources and Exploration Technology of the Ministry of Education, the ProvincialMinisterial Coconstruction Collaborative Innovation Center for Unconventional Oil and Gas, CNPC Key Laboratory of Oil & Gas Reservoirs, Hubei Engineering Research Center for Unconventional OilGas Geology and Engineering, and Hubei Key Laboratory of Southern Complex Shale OilGas Geology and Development. Distinct disciplinary strengths have been formed in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering, Geology, and Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology.

The school currently has 175 faculty and staff members, among whom 142 are fulltime teachers. 135 teachers hold doctoral degrees, including 35 professors, 59 associate professors, 23 doctoral supervisors and 114 master supervisors. The faculty includes 3 national highlevel talents, 3 Distinguished Disciplinary Scholars of Yangtze University, 2 Hubei Provincial Distinguished Experts, 1 Reserve Young Scientific and Technological Talent for Geological Prospecting from the Ministry of Natural Resources, 1 Young Talent Supported by the China Association for Science and Technology, and 11 recipients of various Hubei provincial talent titles. There are 1 National Model Teacher, 1 National Excellent Teacher, 3 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 5 experts enjoying Hubei provincial government allowances, 1 YoungandMiddleAged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Hubei Province, 2 candidates of the Hubei NewCentury HighLevel Talent Project, 2 Outstanding Natural Science Innovation Groups of Hubei Province, 2 Hubei Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund recipients, and 2 Hubei Provincial Distinguished Teachers.
